Hey Y'all!
This week is cheer clinic, which means serious business. Starting monday at 5:30 everyone who wants to tryout for fall cheerleading will be learning our tryout dance and cheer. With all the new freshman trying out and two new sophomores, I am getting really nervous. My friends and I have been preparing ourselves by going to tumbling practices and going over motions and jumps. Monday through Friday we have the clinic from 5:30-7:30. All this time we are learning and perfecting skills. We have one more day to prepare ourselves before tryouts which is Sunday. There can only be 14 girls on the JV squad and everyone is fighting for a spot. The scariest thing is not knowing if I'm going to make it or what's going to happen.
Last year, they partnered everybody up to tryout with. I was partnered with my good friend Trinity, and luckily we both made it. One thing that I want to change about my try out from last year, is that I want to do a back handspring. I forget how my jumps were last year, but I know for sure that that is something I should be working on everyday from now and until Sunday. Another thing that makes tryouts so scary, is that you're by yourself cheering in front of about 4 people who either just stare blankly at you, or laugh at you and talk to their neighbor about you. Even though you are watching their expressions, writing things down every now and then, you have to keep cool and go on normally. I am hoping that I do my best and make the squad, but even if I don't, I'll know I did everything I could.
Wish me luck!! Taylor
Taylor, tryouts seem so scary. You are an amazing cheerleader though, so I don't think you have to worry. Good luck, I know you'll do great!
ReplyDeleteTaylor, we have prepared ourselves for this and are going to do fine! If we don't make it, it won't be the end of the world because even better things will come if we don't. Just keep Calm!
ReplyDeleteI remember tryouts last year! It was scary! You'll definitely make it though! Good luck!
